Rising above life-changing experiences.
The Shaquille Clark Foundation’s mission is to assist women and children who are victims of homelessness, domestic violence, including emotional, economic, sexual, and physical abuse through a diversified continuum of services focused on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
At our core, we believe that love is simple, unwavering, and unconditional. Regardless of race, religion, ability or sexual orientation, we believe that on this Earth, we should love whole-heartedly and extend this love to all we encounter.
We strive to bring awareness and solutions to domestic violence, gun violence, and homelessness that positively impacts every life, every day in every community.
Raised in the beautiful woodlands of Beckley, West Virginia, my siblings and I learned to respect one another, honor our parents, and that love conquers all.
Unfortunately, love took a long vacation and there I stood in a land of fear, hurt, and domestic violence. It was my big sister who threw me and my children a lifeline, and I escaped my situation with the determination to help others who are also experiencing pain and despair.
Years later, two tragic events would knock again at my door and change my life forever...
In 2014, I lost my big sister to domestic violence. Although she was suffering silently, she stood by my side, offering me courage to escape the strongholds of spousal abuse. She was such a beautiful light that shone upon those she loved. Lynette's light was snuffed out by a man who had once promised to protect her all the days of her life, but would later decide she had lived long enough. Domestic violence extinguished her light, but her spirit lives and breathes through me and the work that this Foundation gives to end domestic violence.
No more that a year after losing my sister, I lost my oldest son to gun violence. I took the grief of my sister and my son, and contributed to my community to lessen the chances of families enduring such horrible tragedies in their lives.
In January 2018, my business partners and I started the Shaquille Clark Foundation with a mission to assist women and children who are homeless or experiencing domestic violence.
We work tirelessly to meet the urgent needs of these families by providing resources such as emergency and transitional housing, emotional support, and a host of services centered on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
Your donations to the Shaquille Clark Foundation will allow us to support those suffering from domestic violence, homelessness, and families of those who have lost loved ones to gun violence. We appreciate your continued support of our cause.
